High-intermediate/Advanced ELL class

Authentic material used:  Community Resource Book, listing agencies and services provided to residents of Central Oregon.  Each student got a copy to keep.

Students were very glad to learn about what's available to them in our community.  We practiced using the Table of Contents in class and started the questions and then they did the rest as homework.  They enjoyed discussing their opinions about these services.  It was a great lesson to practice skimming for quick information.  I'd like to follow-up by having each student choose one service that they think the others would find helpful and doing a 1-minute presentation on it.
