Statistics
Objectives:
- To understand basic statistics involving mean, median, mode, and range
Outcomes:
- To correctly complete a statistics worksheet involving mean, median, mode and range
Warm-Up:
Check your basic knowledge of statistics by completing a statistics worksheet. Click here to create a worksheet on statistics. You can either print a copy to work on or complete the problems on your own piece of paper. Your goal is to get at least 80% correct on this worksheet. If you score less than 16 correct, go to New Instruction to learn more about statistics. If you get 16 or more correct, move on to Transfer of Knowledge or Skills to extend your knowledge of statistics even further. Ask your teacher to help you check your answers if needed or follow the directions given on the website to see the answer key.
New Instruction:
Go to Purplemath.com to learn more about mean, median, and mode
The range of a set of numbers is the largest value in the data set minus the smallest value in the data set. Note that the range is a single number, not many numbers.
Optional: click here for a Powerpoint presentation to learn more about mean, median, mode, and range.
