Dear MAACE Members and Adult Education Colleagues,

 

Your MAACE Board has been working behind the scenes to develop some great professional development opportunities as listed below:

 

  1. First Annual MAACE Summer Conference

Kwa Taq Nuk Resort – On the Lake

Polson, Montana

June 25th – 27th, 2008

 

A Pre-Conference for Math instructors will be held on Wednesday, June 25th.   We will continue with our math keynote speaker and various breakout sessions for math as well as other topics on Thursday and Friday. 

 

Our Annual Business Meeting for MAACE will also be held at the conference.   Please submit nominations to Suzette Fox for board members for Eastern, Western, and At Large Representatives. 

 

Please consider sharing your expertise with your colleagues around the state and  submit your presentation proposal form by April 1.

 

Please submit your conference registration and reserve your rooms by May 31. 

 

Steve McCoy has planned many fun and educational events for all of us in Polson this summer.  Think about bringing the family for some fun on the lake as well!!

  1. MAACE Scholarships are available to help you attend the summer conference.   Scholarship Applications are due by April 2!  Click on the link below and get your application in as soon as possible.

  1. We are also planning for a MAACE Presence at the MEA Fall Conference in Missoula October 16-17, 2008.  Please use the following link to learn more about the conference and submit online applications to present.

MEA reimburses us for our hospitality room needs based on the number of presenters we have for our group.  Our sessions were well attended last fall.  The teachers enjoy learning more about the GED and the Adult Ed process.  By maintaining our presence at MEA, the K-12 instructors become more aware of our presence and the services we provide to our students and our communities. 

 

Please plan to present if you will be attending the conference in Missoula.  We will share a hospitality room with the math instructors and will try to plan some social time as well.
