JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
MONTANA ASSOCIATION FOR ADULT &
COMMUNITY EDUCATION
The Montana Association for Adult and
Community Education is seeking to fill the position of part-time association
Executive Secretary. The Executive Secretary will work under the supervision of
the MAACE President and be responsible to the association board of directors.
- Major responsibilities for this
position include:
- Publish and distribute a quarterly
(four issues) association newsletter and assist with other association
publications.
- In collaboration with the board and
appropriate committees, plan, organize and carry out the annual MAACE
conference.
- Plan, attend and take minutes at
all association board of directors meetings.
- In collaboration with the board and
appropriate committees, plan, organize and carry out any
association-sponsored professional development activities.
- Carry out other activities as
assigned by the board of directors.
- At this time the individual selected
for this position will be hired on a contract for services basis for a
one-year period. The contract may be renewed pending assessment of performance
and/or changes in MAACE structure as will be determined by the board. The
compensation will be $3,950 per year to be paid in twelve monthly
installments. Reasonable office and travel expenses related to the above
responsibilities will be reimbursed. MAACE will not provide and/or pay for
office space, furniture or computer hardware/software.
- Qualifications for this position are:
- Experience working with a
non-profit organization
- Ability to use computer programs to
produce the newsletter, conference flyers, conference programs, databases,
membership lists, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
- Ability to organize activities and
events.
- Ability to work with a limited
amount of direct supervision.
- Ability to attend board meeting
June 14-15, 2004 and assume duties on July 1, 2004.
